Out of Swift’s 1st litter we kept “wagging Tara”. (Irish: The Hill of Tara was a traditional seat of the high king of Ireland. Tara was an elevated assembly place named for a Celtic goddess).

Right from the start Tara had no divine character – she is more the “Irish” type and quite wild – but she did wag her tail since she could walk - even when she retrieved her first partridge with 7 weeks!

With 6 months we realise that Tara resembles more and more her mother Swift.

Photo shoot with Steffi in January 2008. To sit as a model is quite difficult for Tara. While working she is always „steady“ but „just“ to sit and to do nothing – not that easy for our hot tempered 2 year old bitch!

On the 20th of March 2009 Tara gives birth to 4 healty pups, the Lockthorn I-litter.

She also likes to work with dummies (here at her final retrieve at the Skinner's World Cup Retriever Event at Highclere 2010, where she was second best individual dog after the 2 days).

On the 4.4.2011 Tara had her second litter, the Lockthorn D-litter with 9 healthy pups.

And as highlight of the year Tara and Daniel did win a 2-days Open Qualifying Stake and therefore they qualified for the IGL Championship 2011!

The field trial season 2012 has also been quite successful - but they just missed the first place (and therefore another qualification for the IGL Championship).

On the 27.2.2013 Tara had her third litter, the Lockthorn Z-litter with 8 healthy pups.

26./27.5.2013: Switzerland wins the Skinner's World Cup Retriever Event at Highclere with J.B., Temba, Tara & Yon. Temba becomes Top Dog and Tara is placed 4th in the individual scores (3 month after her last litter!).

In October a dream comes true: win at Grinkle Park (difficult ground with a lot of white grass) at a 2 days Open and therefore...

...and therefore Tara is allowed to call herslf Field Trial Champion - FTCH Lockthorn Tara - as it is written on the certificate in black and white!

...and with the win at Grinkle Park Daniel also qualified Tara for the second time for the English IGL Retriever Championship. And even if both of them haven't been good enough to win it, it was a great experience!

End of May 2014 Tara competes again for Switzerland at the Skinner's World Cup. She is fit like a fiddle...

...and even if the result wasn't as good as the previous years - Tara did work great (just, well - there was the ONE test ...)!

August 2014: Tara did win the first 2-days open stake of the season in Bolton Abbey and qualifies again (the 3rd time) for the IGL-Championship 2014 in Windsor!

The day arrives: Daniel handles Tara from the 1st to the 3rd of December 2014 at the IGL Retrieverchampionship in Windsor (she is the oldest of all the dogs).

During the theree days she succeeds with all the retrieves.

A fantastic result: On the 3rd day just 9 out of 56 dogs have been left. The prizes are presented by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She hands over the first Diploma of Merit (DOM) to Daniel with FTCh Lockthorn Tara!
