Dry stone wall repair…
Dry stone walls don't need a concrete foundation,...
...they are able to flex and settle through the action of weather and frost.
ANYWAY: In December 2025 one of our walls started to collapse.
Why? It could have been weather, age - or it could have been "our" pheasant!!!!
Pheasant "George" became too heavy for the wall (enjoying the food that falls down from the bird feeder).
He really took over our garden!
In January we removed the garden bench (obviously quite rotten)...
...and in March 2026 the dry stone waller...
Everything went down and up again...
...and at the end the wall looked pretty much the same as before.
After a hardness test by George...
...we could even add a new bench.
Now everything is controlled and approved by George!
