The beginning of January 2026 was sometimes misty...
...sometimes sunny - but always "green".
But not for long. It started snowing.
First not too much - the roofs of Whitethorn in the background haven't been covered with snow...
...but the next days we had more and more.
WHITE Whitethorn...
...even with snowdrifts.
Dalby forest looked pretty...
...as well as the moors...
...really winterwonderland...
...even if it was tricky to walk!
The farmer tried to clear the road...
...but the snow drifts have been very high.
Black dogs on white snow - a "no go"!
After some days (nearly one week) the farmer finally succeeded.
It was still difficult to park the car and get the dogs out.
After about 10 days the weather changed and temperatures were rising.
Everywhere water instead snow.
Perfect timing for the Novice trial of the YFTS (Yorkshire Field Trial Society)...
...where Daniel got a "last minute" run with Nora on the 14th of January at Thimbleby (North Yorkshire).

...and guns choice for Daniel with "Westerkames Kept Secret of Lockthorn". What a surprise!
And what a suprisingly great end of the season after Daniel and Flint did win the OPEN trial of the YGRC on the 6th of December 2025. "Expect nothing - enjoy the surprise"!
