31st July 2018 Hot temperatures – for weeks – characterise this summer as well on the Continent as in England. That means for the dogs: collars off... ...and enjoy a cool bath in the pond... ...or a lovely walk at the beach! Therefore we had the idea to set off to "cool" Scotland... ...to meet some old and new Swedish friends. It was really a good and "hot" idea - in the truest sense of the word! Fortunately the training ground at Glenisla at Graham Slater - Oakshot Gundogs- offers everything... ...everything a (retriever) heart desires - including water! Graham never tires to give us a lot of tips for the Novice dogs... ...and to set challenging tests for our Open dogs! Summary: dream weather, dream setting, dream ground... - any time again! In return, Inga-Lena and Leif are visiting us at Whitethorn together with Carina, Kenneth, Karina and Leif... ...and of course we train our dogs (pictured: Leif with Falcon in the lovely landscape of Farndale). It is vey dry - even in North Yorkshire... ...but the heather is blooming... ...and it is a must to do some photographs! Finally a photo from Falcon, Fake and their mother Zoe. And now it is time to say goodbye and to wait... ...to wait for the next visitors: Maja, Jessica and brother Flynn. And as another surprise: a training session with Fake's yellow brother Fenton... A real family affair with strong winds - how hot is that?!? Not as hot as expected was the lunar eclipse end of July - we had storm and rain (finally)... ...but the next evening was beautiful - and we even saw the full moon!
