Skinner's World Cup Retriever Event 2017 - Cawdor Estate, Inverness, Scotland
Many thanks to Chris Gross for the lovely photographs!
18th May 2017
Skinner’s World Cup: There is no comparable other international competition where the best dogs and handlers of the continent are running against the best of the UK!
For the first time ever the competition was held on the 13th/14th of May in Scotland at the Cawdor Estate, Inverness. It was the most challenging test ever!
The dogs have been tested in various and most difficult ground:
...over huge distances...
...over the river and uphill...
...diagonally through the river...
...over steep banks...
...through thick wood...
...where you hardly could see the dog (nor handle)...
...over walls...
...and through valleys.
The tests and organisation of Roddy Forbes and his team have been second to none.
Thank you also to the Skinner's team for the marvellous organisation (here Will Delamore the marketing director)!
Congratulation to the winner Denmark (1028 pts) - top team and top dog (J.J. Henriksen)...
...and the English team that became second (1020 pts).
And the Swiss team? Unfortunately more downs than ups. Murphy's law says: "Whatever can go wrong will go wrong"! (Marcel couldn't enter GB in the last minute, no spare dogs so Daniel had to handle two dogs...
No, we are not looking for excuses - but the next year we will try harder! Claudia & Dice, Bea & Sheyenne, Daniel & Ziva & Zoe.
