Field Trial season starts middle of August and ends at the end of January. But from September until December is the main time for trials.

On the 18th/19th of October the Kennel Club helds his Open Retriever Trial at Emblehope.
This beautiful moorland estate is absolutely ideal for walked up trials.
The cracking ground varies from fairly flat and boggy to steep.
Challenging retrieves over stretching moorland ...
...over fences, water into high grass.
Good marking of handlers and dogs as well as hunting abilities of the dogs are essential.
