News The International Workingtest IWT was held on the 6th/7th of july in Austria around the lovely "Pillersee". The organisation was excellent (congratulation to Paul Csokay!), the atmosphere very friendly, the ground just dreamlike (swampy meadows, high grass, water - everything a retriever likes to work in!), the tests have simulated a hunting day and have been very difficult because of the heavy ground (crossing of grounds, ditches, reed, ...). | | | |
29 teams did compete, 4 of them from Switzerland. Our team (Francesca Navratil and Tweed, Beate Haag with Fen and myself with Cap) was supported by Daniel S., our teamcaptain. Because of Tweed's eye problem (he has PRA), Francesca did most of the blinds with him - and it worked: they even got a run in the final! Cap showed some marvelous markings and worked like a "top dog". But probably he realized, that he could be in the final, so he "decided" to get a "zero" by running in during the walk-up, where he already finished a brilliant retrieve! He was stopped by me immediately but Fenn, Beate's bitch was so impressed because of my shouting that she forget her marking - and probably lost the chance to be in the final too. Sorry about that!!!! Anyhow, we enjoyed to wonderful days and have been proud of our result! The results and all the details will soon be seen : www.iwt2002.org For the moment "just" the teamresults: 1. Austria. Teamcaptain Simone Lhota 420 Pkt 2. Germany.
